What We Do

The principal aim of the National Tree Collections of Scotland is to protect promote and enhance Scotland's wealth of tree collections, and in doing so to help reconnect people with trees.  We achieve this through a wide range of activities.

Protecting - helping the owners and managers of tree collections to protect and maintain them for the benefit of future generations, facilitating knowledge exhange and benefit sharing, and promoting best practice.

Promoting - Marketing the network of sites participating in NTCS as 'Scotland's Tree Trail', encouraging greater public appeciation of Scotland's tree collections and promoting them as visitor attractions.

Enhancing - Helping to enhance tree collections in Scotland through programmes of surveying, planting, providing advice and faciliating linkages between collections.
