Founded by Thomas Hopkirk, a distinguished Glasgow botanist, in 1817 and lying beside the magnificent River Kelvin at the heart of Scotland’s biggest city, the Glasgow Botanic Gardens offer pleasant riverside walks, peaceful woodland copses and exotic tropical places to explore.
Due to commence in 2014, the innovative Tree Hub project will see the importance of trees to the past, present and future of Scotland communicated in an orientation hub that will allow visitors to the Glasgow Botanic Gardens to fully explore the impact of Scotland’s importance in world forestry.
